Chadwick Boseman Talks BLACK PANTHER.

One of my favorite bits from the Phase Three announcement back in October was the confirmation that Chadwick Boseman would star in BLACK PANTHER. He is a wonderful actor, and I'm eager to see what he does as T’Challa. Unfortunately, since the announcement was made, we haven't heard too much. He has briefly talked about taking on the role here and there, but nothing too interesting has come out. With filming set to start on CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR in April, there is a good chance that will start to change.

While at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival this past Sunday, Comic Book Resources was able to get in a quick intereview with Boseman, and while he didn't share much information, his excitement was evident judging by his responses.

When asked about his prepping for the role, Boseman responded by saying: "Who said I was prepping? [Laughs] I think right now, it's just going through the possibilities of what he can do. It's a brainstorming phase, trying to figure out what it looks like -- I'm going to be as vague as I can! -- what it looks like and what it should feel like in certain moments. But just going through [the material], because there's always a difference from one story to the next of who he is -- trying to find a way to merge those things together. Because I think that's always fun when these movies work: it's when people see several things satisfied at one time. And I think that's been the fun part so far."

They also asked him about his comic book research, and if there was anything he'd found that he responded to. You can read more about that by heading here

Nerdist was also able to speak with Boseman during the festival, and they managed to get a little more out of him.

When asked what attracted him to the role, he responded with: "To be honest with you, what wouldn’t? There are weaknesses that he has, but he’s good at hiding them. Let me put it that way. That’s all I can say. [Laughs.]"

They also managed to get in a few more questions, and while Boseman can't answer a lot of the questions right now (which is to be expected - this is a Marvel movie, secrets are the norm), he does provide some interesting answers. It sounds like he is really doing his research and getting excited and that's only making me more excited.
