AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Rumors!

A couple of new rumors hit the web for AGE OF ULTRON today. One makes perfect sense as it's more-so "confirmation" of a fan speculation since the first ULTRON trailer. The other rumor, however, is a new one, and it is a very, very, very interesting one.

Since I know not everyone wants to be spoiled, I've decided to do a "spoiler" cut. If you want to read about the rumors, please click "read more", otherwise? You should probably exit this post right now.

If you watch Meet the Movie press every Friday, then you know they usually drop a few scoops here and there. (Mainly Jeff from The Wrap, although the other guests occasionally bring their own scoops.) Now, Schmoes Know isn't known for dropping scoops, but they did just that on today's Meet the Movie Press... well, technically they only dropped one during the show, the other one they dropped online later in the day.

If there's one thing we know for sure from the AGE OF ULTRON trailer, it's that there are a ton of surprises hidden in there. In the first trailer, we were left trying to figure out who Claudia Kim was playing. (We now know she's playing Doctor Cho.) In the second trailer, we found ourselves questioning who two other women were as we'd never seen them before. Fans have their speculation concerning those women, and as of right now, we're all still rather clueless as to who the women are.

But when it came to Andy Serkis' character, fans immediately determined he was playing Klaw. This, of course, was never confirmed by Marvel, but everything in the trailer hinted towards it. Now, Schmoes Know are stating that their source has confirmed that Serkis is, in fact, confirmed to be playing Ulysses Klaw.

Here is what they had to say about Serkis playing Ulysses Klaw:

It’s already common knowledge (for the most part) who Andy Serkis might be playing in Age of Ultron. Hell, the minute Serkis’ handsome mug flashed on screen in the Ultron trailer, fans knew in their heart of hearts that he would be playing Ulysses Klaw.  We can now confirm that Andy Serkis is in fact playing Klaw!
This version of Klaw will be a sort of amalgamation of both Klaw and his father in the comics, Fritz Klaue, who has a history in the comics (and from what we hear in the film as well) with Baron von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann) and The Howling Commandos.

Sure, that isn't a big news drop.

But their second scoop was.

See, their second scoop is that their source is hearing Mantis is going to be in AGE OF ULTRON.

This is something I wasn't expecting to hear. I figured that if we saw Mantis, it wouldn't be until GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2, so it's a nice surprise. Now, it is worth noting that they state their source isn't 100% guaranteeing this will happen, but it is what they are hearing.

Here is what their source had to say:

This would seem to make a lot of sense as she 1) has direct ties to Thanos, 2) has even stronger ties to Vision, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch, 3) has a personal vendetta in the comics against Klaw and, most importantly 4) has been a prominent member of both The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

I've gotta admit, as excited as I would be to see Mantis, I'm still kind of hopeful that Carol makes her way in the movie as a cameo, at least. I know her solo film is still a long way out, but still. Before filming started, I know multiple sites stated Ms. Marvel was in the script, but I don't know how much changed between then and now.

Still, more female characters introduced into the MCU is always a good thing!
